Overview
I don’t have much to say about this great lens except that like all the Hexanons I’ve used it has brilliant color rendition, great contrast, and it easily and handily demonstrates the reason people still buy, use, and love Konica SLRs. I think the sample image speaks for itself….
Usage
Bayonet mount, clicks in place to the right (clockwise). AE setting has a lock that must be released with the silver button on the lens before selecting a manual aperture.
Special Notes
There were model year variations from the first round of second generation (all black) Hexanons to the second round that arrived with the TC. I have two 1.7 Hexanons and there are definite design differences in the lens housings, though no noticeable difference in the images they make:
The earlier one is a bit chunkier, with a profile that more resembles its silver-and-black all-metal 1.8 predecessor. The newer one is more streamlined, more tapered. They also have different minimum focus.
